Wafung Tai Chi

On December 17, 2020, Tai Chi was successfully included in the United Nations Representative List of Human Intangible Cultural Heritage, becoming the only traditional Chinese martial arts to be selected as a representative work of human intangible cultural heritage. Tai Chi, which embodies the essence of Eastern culture, is a bridge and link between Eastern and Western cultural exchanges, demonstrating its importance to the sustainable development of mankind.

Wafung International Culture Communications and Broadcasting Limited is committed to the exchange and dissemination of Tai Chi and health culture in major overseas countries and regions. Our goal is to let more people participate by building a Tai Chi platform.

Sports market research

Recently, some institutions have conducted research on the sports market, including literature research and questionnaire surveys.

Eleven regions were selected for literature research, including Canada, the European Union, the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia, China, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong.

The questionnaire survey was conducted in the form of home visits in Hong Kong, and more than 5,000 families were successfully interviewed.

The survey results show:
The most common exercise for 13.8% of the people is jogging.
Followed by swimming (13.2%) and badminton (10.1%), Tai Chi only 3.0%.
The top three sports they most want to learn are swimming (14.7%), Tai Chi (10.3%) and badminton (8.8%).

Swimming is the sport that citizens aged 7 to 59 most want to learn, while elders aged over 60 choose Tai Chi as their preferred sport.

From the market survey, we can judge that Tai Chi accounts for a low proportion in the current mass sports market, and there is a big gap compared with market expectations. There is great potential for promoting Tai Chi and health culture!
